Happiest Wishes

Had the urge to do a really girly card today. I still have some retired Barely Blush cardstock and a Prima flower that matched perfectly so I started from there! I stamped the Blush cardstock with the large flourish from the Creative Elements stamp set with versamark ink. As I laid the lace, circle and flower on it, I felt it needed something else. Rather than paper pierce and faux stitch a border, I decided to do little cuts. It took a long time to do, but I love how different it looks! The little white flowers are kaisercraft and I curled the wire and glued them on.

Stamps: Happiest Birthday Wishes (Stampin Up)
Ink: momento Tuxedo Black, Versamark,
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Barely Blush, Whisper White (Stampin Up)
Papers: Tea at Elsie's (Kaisercraft)
Accessories: Lace (Spotlight - store), ZVA pearls, Prima and Kaisercraft pearls, Martha Stewart border and butterfly punches

Sweetest Things

I made a few mistakes on this card, but I won't point them out! I needed a birthday card for a friend, and I rushed this one :( I'm hoping they're not too obvious!! I will definitly have to but more red flowers, this is the only one I have, and I love it!

Stamps: polka Dot Greetings (My Favourite Things)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Old Paper (Tim Holtz)
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Basic Black (Stampin Up)
Papers: Stampin Up (unknown collection)
Accessories: Prima flowers, We are Memory Keepers floss, Martha Stewart border punch

Big Wish

This is for Viva La Verve Week 4. It's a CAS sketch - which I always struggle with. I started with the flower and used the colours in that to find the papers and cardstock to match. I don't have a lot of sentiments that are large so I had to use what I had, and cover the rest of the square with the birdcage, flower and bird! I sponged the edges of the yellow paper, square, and the birdcage with old paper ink.

Stamps: Big Wish (Verve)
Ink: Close to Cocoa (Stampin Up), Old Paper (Tim Holtz)
Cardstock: Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla (Stampin Up)

Happy Birthday - Viva La Verve Week 3

I coloured this image a few months ago,and shaded yellow around the edge, I thought I'd ruined it and put it in my scrap box hoping to never see it again! I came across it and decided to use it on this card - hoping to get past my horrible yellow shading! Turns out, I actually really like it on this card! The papers are from the My Minds Eye Rosy and sunshine collections. The sketch is for Vival Va Verve Week 2. I had a little trouble deciding what to do with the sentiment, but decided to to use a dimensional and stick it over the banner.

Stamps: Year in Flowers 3 (Flourishes)
Ink: momento Tuxedo Black
Cardstock: Very Vanilla and Whisper White (Stampin Up)
Papers: Rosy and Sunshine (My Minds Eye)
Accessories: Buttons (my stash), paper piercer, black marker

Lotus Birthday

This is one of my favourite cards. I love the flower image. I really wish I still had the first card I made with that flower on it. I still remember it, and it's great to see how far I've come in my cardmaking in just a few short years. Mind you, I still have a LOOOOOOONG way to go to get where I want to be! Anyway, about the card! I coloured the flower with copic markers and dotted with the darkest colour. I then cut it out and used dimensionals to stick it on. Once again, I didn't have a circle border quite big enough to put behind the main circle, so I used two seperate ones stuck together. Just love those MFT borders!!!

Stamps: Lotus Floral (Amy Butler - K & Company), Big Wish (Verve)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Pink Pirouette, Copics
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin Up)

Simply Suede - Viva La Verve Weeks 1 and 3

Hi there! I haven't used the colour Soft Suede (Stampin Up) before, and I was determined to give it a go. I had the intention of creating male cards with it, and although the photo on the right is kind of male (except the flower), both turned out very feminine! I can't help it! My husband said the one on the right would've been okay for a male birthday - except that it says "simply" wonderful. He said - who says simply wonderful to a guy! Hadn't even thought about it like that! Oh well! The sketches are for Viva La Verve Weeks 1 and 3.

Stamps: Polka Dot Greetings (My Favourite Things), Sunny Days (Verve)
Ink: Soft Seued (Stampin Up)
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Whisper White (Stampin Up)

On Mother's Day

I know it's quite some time until Mother's Day, but I was looking through my old papers and stamp sets and thought these would be perfect for a Mothers Day card. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the papers. They are Stampin Up from a couple of years ago, when they had those two collections of textured papers. I stamped the pots on the papers and cut them out to add a different look. I'll be nice and prepared for Mother's Day this year! May even give this one to my husband to give me!

Stamps: Blooming With Love (Stampin Up)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Balck, Copics
Cardstock: Whisper White, Baja Breeze (Stampin Up)
Papers: Stampin Up - unknown

Black Birthday Wishes

I don't often use black on cards, but I'm starting to like it more. This card is a bit bold, but I coloured the image first and had to match it with some bright pinks! I didn't have an oval border to go around the image so I used 2 lacey circle ones. I think it turned out okay.

Stamps: English Rose (Kaisercraft), Big Wish (Verve)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Cardstock: basic Black, Whisper White, Pretty In Pink, Rose Red (Stampin Up), Neenah Solar White

"U" Set

I was going through my paper stash and came accross a collection I haven't used before - It's The Little Things from Fancy Pants Designs. Yep, it came out a while ago, but it takes me a while to get to things! So I made the bottom thank you card first. I just love the pattern on the "U." When I was taking everything off the card to apply the adhesive, I was left with something similar to the top right card, so I thought I would add some twine and buttons and make a set! And so came the third card. So happy with how they turned out.

Stamps: You and I (verve)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
Cardstock: Kraft and Naturals Ivory (Stampin Up)
Papers: It's the Little Things (Fancy pants Designs)
Accessories: Prima flowers, buttons (unknown), Stampin Up twine, Verve die

Birthday Wishes

I made this card for Mojo Monday 231, but didn't get it up on their blog in time for the contest! :( I started with the flower for inspiration and picked the papers and cardstock to match. Normally I pick papers first. The edges around the tag is sponged with old paper ink. I'm still not confident on the sewing machine, so had to do some faux stitching with paper piercing and a marker :(

Stamps: Big Wish (verve)
Ink: Early Espresso (Stampin Up), Old paper (Tim Holtz)
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso (Stampin Up)
Papers: Tea At Elsie's (Kaisercraft)
Accessories: EK Success punch, buttons (unknown), Prima flower, paper piercer, Stampin Up marker, Verve die

Tulip Birthday

Copics are the greatest, but I really am getting bored with the colours I have. It seems the more you have of them, the more you want of them and before you know it, you have a hundred or more! I must put on my wish list more reds and deep pinks. I had to use my Rose Red ink pad and blender pen to do the tulips! I'm still loving My Minds Eye papers. I think I'll be using every scrap of the 6 x 6 pads I have!

Stamps: From the Garden (Flourishes), Big Wish (verve)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Rose Red (Stampin Up), Copics
Cardstock: Early espresso, Whisper White, Rose Red (Stampin Up), Neenah Solar White
Papers: Blush (My Minds Eye)
Accessories: Spellbinders circle and scallop circle, Stampin Up punch, button (unknown)

Boy & Girl Birthday

I've been making so many floral birthday cards, I thought it was about time to make a traditional cupcake card. I did the pink one first and liked how it turned out and thought I'd give a boy version a go. But is it really boyish? Not sure the doilies and buttons help but i find it so hard to layer and accessorize boy cards!!

Stamps: Yummy Treats (Hero Arts)
Ink: Early Espresso, Pink Pirouette, Marina Mist (Stampin Up), Copics
Cardstock: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Rose Red, Kraft, Marina Mist (Stampin up), Neenah Solar White
Papers: Sugared (Basic Grey)
Accessories: Stampin Up ribbon, doilies (my stash), buttons (unknown), Ranger liquid pearls, Tattered Angels glimmer mist (Tattered Leather)

Birthday Wishes

I just love these little birds from the Wordy Birds stamp set (by Verve). I've made anniversary  or wedding cards with them in the past, and so wanted to do a birthday one this time. I'm almost through all the papers in my Victoria Gardens 6 x 6 pad and wanted to use a few of the scraps on this one, so I cut around a couple of the flowers I could stick on. The birds are also stamped on the papers.

Stamps: Wordy Birds (Verve)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Pink Pirouette (Stampin Up)
Cardstock: Whisper White, Regal Rose (Stampin Up)
Papers: Victoria Gardens (Echo Park)
Accessories: Spellbinders circles, Ribbon (Celebrate), Ranger liquid pearls

You're Amazing

I didn't plan on this card turning out like this, but I actually like it better than the original idea! Funny how that happens! I haven't used any kraft cardstock in a while, which I love, so wanted to make it the main colour in the card. I had plans for the bow to go where the sentiment is, and the sentiment to go lower, but I went a little crooked on the pierced dots and had to cover my mistake so put the bow there! And the sentiment had to cover the bare ribbon where the bow was going to go! I love how it turned out!

Stamps: Cherry Blossoms (Flourishes), Small Phrases (Verve)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Crumb Cake (Stampin Up), Copics
Cardstock: Kraft, Always Artichoke (Stampin Up), Neenah Solar White
Papers: Blush (My Minds Eye)
Accessories: Ribbon (Celebrate), American crafts brad, Paper piercer

Football Fanatic

This was such a simple card to put together and I love how it turned out. I do find masculine cards extremely hard, but I think any football lover would be happy to receive this one! Although from Australia, my husband and I love NFL, and follow the Colts, so had to do a blue and white theme to the card! I think it would look great in red too!

Stamps: Quaterback Ian (The Greeting Farm)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip (Stampin Up), Neenah Solar White
Papers: N/A
Accessories: Spellbinders circles, Stacking Stars (MFT), Ranger liquid pearls

And Oldie But A Goodie

This was the very first stamp set I bought from Stampin up. I still remember the first card I made with it. I thought it was so good at the time, but Iook back on it now and laugh! As I do with most of the cards I made a couple of years ago!! I needed a pick me up card for a friend and thought I'd come back to this oldie but a goodie. I coloured the truck with some Always Artichoke ink and a blender pen.

Stamps: Loads of Love (Stampin Up)
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Rose Red (Stampin Up), Momento Tuxedo Black
Cardstock: Rose Red, Always Artichoke, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
