Viva La Verve February Week 4

Last month I really struggled with the CAS (Clean and Simple) card in the Viva La Verve week 4 challenge. So this month, I tried to stick to my style and keep to the sketch as best as I could. Here's the sketch:
And here's what I did:
I think it's pretty close don't you think? I hope so! I cut out the clouds myself (really need the MFT clouds die!), and faux stitched around the edges of the card using paper piercing and a black marker. The banner triangles are the smalles diamonds from the Spellbinders diamond die set.

Stamps: Wonderful Day (Penny Black), Small Phrases (Verve)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Black Marker (Stampin Up)
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin Up), Neenah Solar White
Paper: Sunshine (My Minds Eye)
Accessories: Floss (My Minds Eye), Buttons (own stash), paper piercer

All Year Long

This card sketch is for Viva La Verve Week 3. I made another card which I wasn't happy with so I attempted the sketch again and this is what I came up with! Much happier with this one :) More old papers though - Cosmo Cricket, Early Bird!!! I just wanted a cheery and bright coloured birthday card and I don't often use red, so I loved using colours outside my norm!

Stamps: Yummy Treats (Hero Arts)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Old Paper (Tim Holtz)
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze (Stampin Up)
Papers: Early Bird (Cosmo Cricket)
Accessories: Prima flower, buttons (my stash), twine (Stampin Up and Jillibean Soup), Spellbinders circles, Paper piercer

Heartfelt Thanks

Always Artichoke (Stampin Up), is one of my favourite colours to work with. You will see it in a lot of my cards! It goes well with so many other colours! I'm also still trying to use up alot of my old papers and thought the Wisteria collection from Basic Grey (so old!), would be the perfect match! And yes, another one of those butterflies - it's my last one! I coloured several when I didn't know what colour to do for a previous card. Didn't want them to go to waste!

Stamps: Year in Flowers 3 (Flourishes), Celebration of Thanks (Verve), Butterflies and Blossoms (Flourishes)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Cardstock: Whisper White, Lavender Lace, Always Artichoke (Stampin Up), Neenah Solar White
Papers: Wisteria (Basic Grey)
Accessories: Doilie (own stash), Ribbon (Celebrate), Ranger Liquid Pearls

Thanks A Bunch

After I bought this image, I thought I would never use it because it would be too big to put on a card. Although I think it turned out pretty good on this one. Just couldn't put on as many layers in the background as I usually do! It really needs a "Thanks A Bunch" sentiment, but it just wouldn't fit! (The card is 13cm x 13cm - if you're interested :)

Stamps: Thanks a Bunch (Crafters Companion), Sweet Treats (Verve)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Whisper White (Stampin Up), Neenah Solar White
Papers: Olivia (Bo Bunny)
Accessories: Stampin up and Martha Stewart punches, Ranger liquid pearls

Vintage Friend

Hi there! This sketch is for Viva La Verve February Week 2. I wanted to do a vintage style, shabby chic card this week, which I don't do often, but do enjoy. I just look at other blogs and admire their shabby style and can never seem to get my cards to look any good compared to theirs! Nevertheless, I am pretty happy with this one! The dress is from a store in Brisbane, Australia (Photo Continental). I thought they'd be a good size for a card. Sorry, but the papers are old again, although I'm sure you could still find them in some stores. It's Capella by Basic Grey!

Stamps: Polka Dot Greetings (My favourite Things)
Ink: Early Espresso (Stampin Up), Old Paper (Tim Holtz), Chocolate Chip marker - for spritzing (Stampin Up)
Cardstock: Very Vanilla (Stampin Up)
Papers: Capella (Basic Grey)
Accessories: Prima Rose, Dress (Photo Continental), Stampin Up twine, buttons (unknown)

Robot Birthday

My son, Jack, is 2 in a couple of weeks! I can't believe how fast those two years have gone! So with him, and several of his friends turning 2 this year as well, I have started making the birthday cards for all of them! I love how this card turned out, so it may just end up being for Jack!

Stamps: Hot Rocketz (Stampendous)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin Up), Neenah Solar White
Papers: Little Boy (Echo Park)
Accessories: Stacking Stars (My Favourite Things), Paper piercer, Websters Pages number 2

Plum Birthday

The colour on this card, Pale Plum, is a retired Stampin Up colour. And just like Sage Shadow, I never really liked it or used it much when it was available, but I love it now! It matches the copic markers I used perfectly! I'm not usually a fan of making cards with panels on them, but after the Viva La Verve Week 1 challenge this February, which had three panels on it, I decided to give it another go with this one! I love how it turned out! Thanks for looking :)

Stamps: Bloomin Beautiful (Stampin Up - retired), Big Wish (Verve)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Cardstock: Always artichoke, Pale Plum (retired) and Whisper White (Stampin Up), Neenah Solar White
Papers: N/A
Accessories: Ribbon (Celebrate), Stampin Up button and twine, Spellbinders square, Stampin Up oval punches, Ranger liquid pearls

Saffron Birthday

A friend of mine who's renovating a house, said she wanted to do the guest bedroom in the colours yellow, grey and white. So I was inspired to use those colours on this card! It was super quick and easy to make, and I'm sure it would look great in other colours too!

Stamps: Big Wish (Verve), Butterflies and Blossoms (Flourishes), Small Phrases (Verve)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Grey, So Saffron
Papers: N/A
Accessories: Spellbinders circle, Cuttlebug folder

Viva La Verve February Week 1!

I've had these Prima roses for so long now and just love the colour, but I've never used them! I was determined to put one on this card! The papers are My Minds Eye (Rosy), which I only have two sheets of, so I must buy the whole collection! This sketch is for Viva La Verve February Week 1.

Stamps: Yummy Treats (hero Arts)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin Up)
Papers: Rosy (My Minds Eye)
Accessories: Spellbinders circle and scallop circles, Lace (my stash), Prima flower, ZVA flourish

Birthday Boy

Friends of mine have a 10 year old son, who I make birthday cards for every year. I don't have a lot of pre-teen birthday stamps for boys, and I think he's outgrown the monkeys, dinosaurs and other creatures I usually put on his cards, so I think I'll give him this one this year. I'm hoping it looks more mature??? My husband did make a keen observation though - he thinks the balloon colour is too close to his hair colour. After looking at the photograph I agree, but I hope it still looks okay?

Stamps: Balloon Trevor (C.C Designs)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Early Espresso (Stampin Up), Copics
Cardstock: Neenah Solar White, Whisper White, Bravo Burgundy, Marina Mist, Always Artichoke and Early Espresso (Stampin Up)
Papers: Neutrals Paper Stack (Stampin Up)
Accessories: Spellbinders scallop rectangles and circles, Stampin up oval punches, paper piercer

Baby Boy

I have a couple of friends who are expecting a baby in the coming months, and this is one of the cards I made for them - assuming they're having a boy! (I usually make a bot and girl version of each baby card I make anyway!). The sketch is for Mojo Monday 227. I made a few changes but I think I still kept pretty tru to the original sketch!

Stamps: To The Moon (Verve)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Blush Blossom, Copics
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Grey, Marina Mist
Papers: Neutrals Paper Stack (Stampin Up)
Accessories: Paper doilie (my stash), ribbon (Celebrate), Ranger liquid pearls

Birthday Mouse

After colouring this mouse three times, I finally came up with this version, which I was happy with! I tried lots of colours, including a grey mouse, but decided to keep it relatively mono-tone because it looked much better with the papers! The multi-coloured one may pop up in a blog post down the track when I need a children's birthday card - it seemed to be more suited to that! Thanks for looking :)

Stamps: Mouse Carrying Cake (Tine Wenke)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Pink Pirouette (Stampin Up), Copics
Cardstock: Whisper White and Basic Black (Stampin Up), Neenah Solar White,
Papers: Blush (My Minds Eye)
Accessories: Spellbinders scallop squares, Stampin Up circle punches, Ranger liquid pearls

Birthday Wishes

I have had the Sunny Days stamp set from Verve for a few months now, but haven't used it. It's flowers are so cute and look great when stamped on patterned paper. It's a great way to co-ordinate a card if you don't have a lot of pre-made flowers.

Stamps: Big Wish (verve)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Pink Pirouette (Stampin Up)
Cardstock: Chocolate chip and Whisper White (Stampin Up)
Papers: Vanity Fair (My Minds Eye)
Accessories: Spellbinders circles and ovals, Button (unknown), Stampin Up twine

So Glad

I just love this Sarah Kay image. It's so sweet, and perfect for a friend card. After I coloured it I thought I'd do it again because I didn't like her grey hat, but after playing round with a few papers, and putting the grey cardstock into the card, I think it turned out great! Funny how that happens!

Stamps: How Sweet You Are (Mary kay)
Ink: Momento tuxedo black, Pink Pirouette (stampin Up), Copics
Cardstock: Basic Grey, Whisper White and Pink Pirouette (Stampin Up), Neenah Solar White
Papers: Blush (my Minds Eye)
Accessories: Prima flower, Martha Stewart border punch, Spellbinders ovals, Ranger liquid pearls

I Just Can't Thank You Enough

I'm still going through the Victoria Gardens paper pad and it definitly has to be one of my all time favourite collections. Such pretty colours! This sketch is for Viva La Verve week 3 and I liked that it had the embellishment on the right, seems how I always seem to put mine on the left! I must buy the Verve hearts die so I can try this sketch again and follow it exactly!

Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Pink Pirouette
